Candlelight vigils about people who affected by the cancellation of Temporary Protected Status

Last night, Columbia University Amnesty International (CUAI) placed 1,700 candles on Butler Lawn to represent the hundreds of thousands of people who will be affected by the cancellation of Temporary Protected Status for five countries. Every candle represents 200 people from El Salvador, Haiti, Liberia, Nicaragua, and Sudan who have lost their legal status in the United States under the Trump Administration, and face deportation in the coming months.
