The True Self
2 min readWhen we are born, I like to think of us as each water droplet that flows from the natural springs of untouched nature that silence and eternal is as sweet as the sound of music and pure as fallen snow ons a beautiful Christmas night.
However, like life, it takes its course and it flows through muck and fresh areas, which can pick up dirt, bacteria, scum, waste…or the most beautiful of animals or scenes of nature’s true elements…as most atheists’ belief, this is the only time we have ever lived despite that these things around us have existed for millions, possibly billions of years…
The true self can’t be painted another color and be true. No costume, no fake dialect, no man made creation or concept can outdo what is truth and what is eternal.
Have you heard the story? A woman loved God so much that for 20 years she prayed to Him everyday and did everything in His name. One day somebody told her she wasn’t big chested enough. Unhappy, she went and got chest surgery. Just before the surgery, the doctor convinced her to do a facial surgery as well. After it, she was so excited because everybody said she looked so much more beautiful than before. The hospital was oohing and aahing over her and she gave them a wonderful tip. Then she left the hospital…just right after she started crossing the street, she was runned over. She passed away and went to Heaven; she was angry when she got there. She asked God, “Why didn’t you protect me that day? I’ve been your faithful servant for over 20 years?” God replied, “Because I didn’t recognize you.”
So you see, just like this story, one must be one’s true self. Always regard that as the truth. To become better, one does it that way. To lie to oneself and add superficial things means very little and is disastrous in the end.
It’s the same with notions. Stereotypes. Hate. Lies. Vicious Gossip. Sins.
That’s the farthest things away from who we are. God didn’t make us that way. We have the choice to be our true selves as the way how we are created as each is.
